Welsh Whiskey Company is a relatively young distillery, founded in 1998, the first distillate to sprout from the stills made in September 2000. The distillery is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, in the city of Penderyn, Rhondda Cynon.
Although the production of whiskeys and beers has a long history in Wales, in 1894 the distillate industry disappeared completely from the country, which makes the Penderyn distillery the first distillery to produce whiskey in Wales in more than one hundred years.
