The Glenrothes Vintage Reserve 70cl 40% vol. It is a malt whiskey from the Speyside region made from a combination of ten of the best vintages of Glenrothes, between '89 and '07. Introduced in 2015 as one of the whiskey introductions to the distillery, Vintage Reserve is creamy and light an easy-drinking Glenrothes with notes of red fruit and nuts.
The Glenrothes dates from 1878 and is located near Rothes, in Moray, on the banks of the River Spey, in the Scottish region of Speyside. With a capacity of 5.6 million liters per year, much of the distillery's whiskey is used as part of the Cutty Sark and The Famous Grouse blends.
In the period between 1897 and 1923 the distillery suffered an explosion and several fires, destroying part of the installations, cellars and thousands of barrels, in 1898 the distillery was repaired and its production capacity was considerably extended .
Glenrothes differs from many other single malts in that since 1993 the single malts that it presents do not have a certain age but are identified with a vintage. The character of the Glenrothes whiskeys goes through a warm and creamy mouth, with outstanding notes of red fruits, apricot, honey and cinnamon.
