Talisker 10 years 70 cl 45.8% vol. is an Island Single Malt Scotch, a Scotch malt whiskey from the Isle of Skye, one of the most remote, rugged and beautiful places in Scotland. Few whiskeys are able to transport us to their origins as Talisker 10 does, a whiskey of great balance with great maritime influence, salty, smoked, sweet, milkshake and spiced notes with black pepper.
Talisker is the only distillery on the Isle of Skye, in the region of the Scottish Islands. On the shores of Loch Harport, in the village of Carbost, the distillery produces a whiskey of smoked and maritime character, highly valued and awarded in all corners of the world for its balance.
The malt used by Skye's distillery is made in Muir of Ord and is malted with peat up to a mean peat level of 20 PPM.
Talisker stills use condensing coils instead of a modern condenser. The pipes, in the form of a snake, cause part of the distillate to condense, return to the stills and be distilled again before it reaches the cooler. Talisker distilled his whiskeys three times, like the distilleries of Ireland and the Scottish Lowlands, until 1928.
Talisker's story begins in 1830, when Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill founded the distillery and built it on land leased to MacLeod. The distillery was rebuilt in 1885 and expanded in 1900, unfortunately, in 1960 a great fire destroyed it completely and was rebuilt a second time, recreating exactly the shape and size of the stills, with the aim of preserving the character of the distillery. < / p>
