The Old Bushmills Distillery Distillery is located in Bushmills, County Antrim, in northern Ireland. The company that founded the distillery dates from 1785, although the date on the bottle refers to a royal decree to distill granted to a local landowner in 1608. After several periods of transfer and inactivity, the distillery has remained active constant, since the partial restoration that took place in 1885, after a fire that destroyed several buildings of the complex.
Bushmills uses two types of malt, one without peat and the other slightly disturbed in a triple distillation process, a method established in 1930. The waters used to make the distillate come from the Saint Columb's Rill River.
