Olave Reserva Especial is a vermut black reserva with twelve-month barrel passage and bottle rest. It is elaborated by Celler Sort del Castell in El Morell, Tarragona. It is presented in a 75 cl bottle with 18% vol/alc with a black label finished in gold, white and orange. A more developed vermouth than its "little brother" Red Key.
Olave Reserva Especial uses the same traditional method of vermouth making as his siblings. Eighty-five flavours are macerated for more than two months in a hydroalcoholic base to which the wine is subsequently added. Vermouth then rests in oak barrels for twelve months and in the bottle for two more months before being presented to the public.
Color: Mahogany color with orange reflections. Dense, but not cloudy, very clean.
Aroma: Intense nose with notes of aromatic herbs and spices. Light balsamic touches that provide us with a pleasant and very particular aromatic structure.
Flavor: Good alcohol intensity in the mouth, very well balanced with acidity. Mediumly glyceric, it gives us a velvety mouth. Notes of wood well matched with those of the herbs of the initial mixture. Long aftertaste, bitter and intense.
Conclusion: Olave Special Reserve is the natural evolution of Olave red, a vermouth, which has the experience of the house andzaguirre is a safe bet.
