Pepus was born in 2003 when Miquel Tapias, current owner of Espinaler and fourth generation of the Tapias family at the head of the business, decided to create a second brand of canned fish and seafood. The objective, with a different and striking packaging to reach where the custom of making the vermouth is not known.
Pepus clams: are carefully marinated and processed. With a mild taste of the sea, they are essential in any appetizer that is prized.
Cockles OL120: Pepus cockles are selected at the market at the ideal time of each season, in mid-July and until October. They are then sorted according to size and packed in bulk.
Mussels OL120: Pepus Mussels are picked up from Galician trays and they are elaborated with an unic pickled sauce, which is made with natural ingredients
Octopus OL120: The Espinaler’s octopus is boiled to achieve its awesome texture. Then, it is sliced and canned in olive oil or in “gallega” sauce..
Razor-shells: Razor-shells are fished in pure waters at the best moment, in order to preserve all its quality. We recommend to taste it.
CALAMAR IN ITS INK OL120: The squid in its ink Pepus are made with a mild sauce and squid ink, providing this preserves an intense flavor.
Sauce ESPINALER 92 ml: Ideal condiment to accompany all types of preserves and potatoes. The Espinaler family has produced the sauce with a family recipe, unique and exclusive since 1950, when Ventureta Roldós created it.
Stuffed olive : TOur stuffed olive is of an extra category and it is produced from the Manzanilla Fina variety. It hasn’t got bone and it is filled with an anchovy paste.
ESPARAGUS: Pepus asparagus are harvested and processed with slow cooking. They are then carefully packaged in glass jars.
VERMUT RED 750ML: Prepared with a unique recipe based on high quality white wine, macerated, with more than 80 aromatic herbs that give it a unique bouquet. Among the aromatic spices are artemisia vulgaris, Díctamo de Creta and Kina. Earthy red vermouth with brick colours, brilliant and with an intense and fresh aroma of oregano, mint and caramel.
