Tomintoul Peaty Tang 70cl 40% vol. It is a single malt Scotch whiskey made in the Tomintoul distillery, located in Ballindallochn, in the Scottish region of Speyside. Peaty Tang uses malted barley with peat to add to the whiskey a smoky and smooth malted touch, a whiskey with the gentle character of Tomintoul, herbaceous notes and nuts with a smoky touch.

Tomintoul Distillery

The Tomintoul Distillery Ltd distillery was founded in 1964 by some Glasgow whiskey merchants, who started making blended malt whiskey and single malt. Located in Ballindallochn in the Scottish region of Speyside and next to the Spey River, the Tomintoul distillery is characterized by making medium-bodied, light, gentle whiskeys with malted notes, tofe and cinnamon.

Aging: Malted barley with peat to add a smoky touch to whiskey, a rare feature in a speyside. Whiskey is NAS (No Age Statement) therefore there is no information on the ages of whiskeys.

Nose: Wood smoke, notes of malt nuts and floral notes.

Mouth: Complex, with notes of roasted oak, toasted cereals and pepper.

Finish: Medium - high, fresh final, smoked and peat predominates in the final with a sweet touch.

Tomintoul Peaty Tang is a rare Speyside due to its smoky and peaty notes, uncommon in this region. The whiskey retains the character of the distillery, it is a gentle drink, with smoky notes much more subtle than we could find in an Islay, around 20-25 PPM. A fantastic whiskey to start in smoked whiskeys or to enjoy a different Speyside.
