Gordon & MacPhail is an independent bottler and scotch whiskey distillery located in the city of Elgin, northwest Scotland. Founded in 1895 founded by James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail, it is a family business owned by the Urquhart family. Gordon & MacPhail has been bottling single malts for over 122 years and bottling more than 350 expressions from 70 different distilleries.
In 1993 the Urquhart family succeeded in fulfilling a dream that had persecuted different generations of the family, owning a distillery. In that year Gordon & MacPhail bought the distillery located in Forres, Benromach. Thanks to the great experience of the family, the distillery was re-equipped, restored and opened in 1998.
Gordon & MacPhail has different lines that stand out for different aspects;
Connoisseurs Choice: In 1960 G&M launched a line of whiskeys under the name Connoisseurs Choice, presented a series of single malts that were not available in the market, mainly because distilleries did not bottle as single Malts your whiskeys. Today, Connoisseurs Choice, retains the initial spirit, presenting single malts difficult to access.
Distillery Label: In association with each distillery they are bottled and labeled "officially" under the authorization of the distillery. Today, this relationship of trust allows Gordon & MacPhail to bottle at different ages, volume of alcohol and vintages with the distinctive distillery label.
Private Collection: Selection of whiskeys personally chosen by the directors of G&M for its exclusivity and long aging.
Speymalt: Gordon & MacPhail bottles whiskeys of different ages, volume of alcohol and vintages of one of the most famous distilleries in the world, Macallan.
The MacPhail's Collection: Small and exclusive range of bottling of the best whiskeys of; Bunnahabhain, Glen Scotia, Glenglassaugh, Glenrothes, Glenturret, Highland Park and Tamdhu.
