Of the Gaelic 'Craggan Mor', which means large rock, the Cragganmore distillery is located in Ballindalloch, in the Scottish region of Speyside. Founded in 1869 by John Smith, a distiller with great experience, a large part acquired as a manager in the distilleries The Macallan, Glenlivet, Glenfarclas and Wishawhe.
Cragganmore was the first distillery in Scotland to be located because of its proximity to the railway. The distillery was built with stone from nearby Craggan Mor and the waters of the distillery come from The Craggan Burn. The stills used in the second distillation have a unique shape, being flat and short.
Part of the whiskey made by Cragganmore can be found in the Scottish White Horse blend, providing the character of the distillery in the form of fruity notes and tofe.
Eilian Gillan is an independent bottler born about 40 years ago, Léopold Gourmel, after introducing to his clients the beauty of the single cask, he decided to go one step further and choose his own lots from outstanding barrels. At that time Eilian Gillan was born, offering 3 to 8 references. The aim of bottling is to achieve the authentic expressions of each distillery, the character that defines it in a specific vintage. All whiskeys are tasted and selected by Olivier, aged in Glasgow and bottled in Scotland.
The aim of these bottling is to present different aromatic profiles, with long, persistent and clean finishes and to bottle them without any additive, without dye or cold filtration and avoiding the use of other product barrels that can alter the taste of whiskey itself.
