The Macallan Fine Oak 25 Years Triple Cask Matured 70cl 43% vol. It is a Speyside single malt that belongs to the Macallan Fine Oak series, in which wood is the protagonist, the whiskeys have aged in European oak from the lugo forests that have aged sherry in Jerez de la Frontera and white oak American who have contained sherry and bourbon.
The Macallan distillery is located in the Scottish region of Speyside, in Craigellachie, Moray. Founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, a local farmer who acquired the license to make whiskey and decided to settle in Easter Elchies House, a building dating back to 1700, made of stone for Captain John Grant, an exceptional example of the classic stately mansion of The Highlands The house is surrounded by 160 hectares of green fields and lush forests that are used for the cultivation of barley to make The Macallan, grass for sheep and cattle, forests and grasslands reaped to attract species of birds, the lands are cared for and cultivated in harmony and respect with the environment. The Spey River, one of the distillery's water sources, bordering the farm in the south and southeast, the Spey River that gives its name to the Speyside whiskey-making region, is famous for the whiskey industry that accompanies it during its course and salmon fishing.
During the 19th century the owners of The Macallan were people from the region, with a special link to the inhabitants and nature of the place. Almost seventy years later, Roderick Kemp bought the distillery, and during the leadership period Roderick established the reputation of quality of The Macallan, thanks to his efforts, the distillery experienced a growth in demand and from 1951 - 1963 the distillery suffered numerous changes, improvements and expansions of the facilities.
In 2002 and the following years the distillery won numerous awards, acclaimed by critics and connoisseurs, the Fine & Rare collection garnered great recognition, which continued to expand in 2004 with the Fine Oak collection.
The Macallan distillery has always shown exceptional quality in its products for decades. The waters to make the whiskeys are extracted from springs located on the farm itself, near where the Spey River and Ringorm Burn converge. The distillery stills are the smallest in Speyside and until 2004 the distillery had only used European oak barrels that contained sherry acquired in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz. From that year The Macallan introduced the American oak barrels of ex-Bourbon in addition to those of Spanish sherry with the Fine Oak series.
Finally, a fact that becomes important with the NAS series The 1824 Series (No Age Statement or without declared age) is that The Macallan ensures that the color of your whiskey is natural and does not change or alter in no way, the colors are provided by the barrels naturally.
