Dzama Vieux Rum 3 Years 70cl 52%vol. is a golden rum produced on the exotic island of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean, aged for three years in barrels of whiskey Chivas. Dzama, a name derived from the city where it is made, Dzamanzar, shows a full palate, full of caramel orange peel, coffee, vanilla and woody notes, a rum that represents the Terroir where it is made.
The Dzama distillery was founded by Lucien Fohine, half Chinese and half Madagascan, and his wife. Owners of a grocery store and a Scotch whisky distribution company, in the beginning, the couple imported bottles of Scotch whisky, thanks to the success of whisky, soon began to import barrels and bottle locally, creating a stock of empty barrels that soon led to the island of Nosy Be, a rum processing region of northwest Madagascar, to age rum.
With the success of rum, production soon moved to Antananarivo, the company began with two small trucks and a couple of vans, today has more than 60 vehicles covering Madagascar and dominates 60% of the distillates market of the island, with more than 22 million people.
