The winery is located in the municipality of Valdefinjas in the province of Zamora. It was founded by the Eguren family and its purpose was to produce the best red wine within the Toro denomination of origin. The jewel of the winery, Thermantia 2004, scored 100 points from a Parker colleague in Spain in the time they worked together. Since then, the winery has been part of the French LVMH Group (Louis Vuitton and Moët Hennessy).
The vineyards are located at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level and cover an area of 49 hectares. They are composed of micro plots, with an age of the vines ranging from 50 to 100 years. The climate is very extreme.
The grape used to make the wine was only Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo). It is harvested entirely by hand, selecting the best bunches. In the winery the bunches are destemmed so that they can macerate with their skins in tanks. They are aged in French oak casks for 18 months.
Scored in the 2015 vintage with 90 points Parker and 91 points Peñín. It is a wine that we recommend pairing with game meats, roasts, stews, mountain rice, cured cheeses and sirloin. Serve at a temperature of 18ºC.
Color: Bigarreau cherry red.
Nose: Aroma ripe black fruit, cherry, spicy notes and toasted.
