The family winery uses the Rioja qualified designation of origin (currently there are only two areas that use this type of designation, Rioja and Priorato). Álvaro Palacios, winemaker of the winery, stands out worldwide thanks to creations such as the famous L'ermita wine, in the Priory region.
For the elaboration of this wine, the Tempranillo grape has been mainly used together with the Garnacha grape, accompanying them in a smaller percentage of the Mazuelo and Graciano grapes. The clusters are collected in vineyards over 30 years old, with clayey and calcareous soils.
The harvest is done by hand, once stemmed and crushed, malolactic fermentation takes place in French and American oak barrels for 16 months, almost always in new barrels. Then it goes to rest in the bottle.
It is a wine that we recommend pairing with game, cooked meats, rice dishes, Iberian sausages and sheep cheese. Serve at a temperature of 16ºC to 18ºC.
Color: Cherry red.
Nose: Aromas of red forest fruits with hints of spices and toast.
Mouth: Elegant, fresh, pleasant and round attack.
End: Typically La Riojan.
