The winery Pago de carraovejas


The winery is located in the outskirts of the municipality of Peñafiel province of Valladolid. Within the denomination of origin Ribera del Duero, this municipality is one of the most traditional winemaking.


The vineyards are located on a slope 900 metres above sea level with slopes ranging from 30 to 40%. The estate has the privilege of having a myroclimate. On the one hand, thanks to the influence of the nearness of the Duero river and on the other hand, in the southern area the slopes of gentle slopes.

It has been made with Tempranillo grapes accompanied by Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of Merlot. The aging was 12 months in French oak barrels and then 36 months in the bottle.

Tasting notes and interesting data


Scored in the 2012 vintage with 94 Parker and 96 Peñín points. It is a wine that we recommend to combine with meat, suckling pig, game, manchego cheese and Iberian sausages. Serve at a temperature of 16ºC to 18ºC


Color: Bigarreau cherry.


Nose: Aroma of ripe red fruits, combined with spices.


Mouth: Intense, elegant and round.
