The winery is located in Pesquera de Duero, within the D.O. Ribera del Duero. At the head of the winery are the third generation made up of the brothers Javier and José Moro.
The vineyards coming from the "Pago" farm de Valderramiro have the oldest glasses in the winery. They are more than 90 years old and cover an area of 4.2 hectares. The predominant climate is continental and the grape variety used to make the wine is Tempranillo.
The harvest is collected manually, passed to the winery for selection on the table and then after alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, proceeds to aging in French oak barrels for 18 months, with a production of 7,000 bottles
Malleolus by Valderramiro has been named by Wine Enthusiast magazine as the seventh best wine in the world in its "Top 100 Cellars of the World 2015". Robert Parker's "The Wine Advocate" awarded Malleolus de Valderramiro 2005 97 points. On a national level, the newspaper Expansión has placed this wine in third place among the "15 Best Wines in Spain".
Scored in the 2011 vintage with 92 Parker and Peñín points. It is a wine that we recommend to pair with entrecot, game meats, stews, legumes, cured cheeses and Iberian sausage. Serve at a temperature of 18ºC.
Color: Red cherry.
Nose: Aromas of black fruit (blackberries and redcurrants), floral and toasted notes.
Mouth: Meaty, greedy and round.
Final: Intense.
