Malfy Gin 70cl 41% vol. It is an Italian gin with a strong citrus character. Made in Turin, it uses Sicilian lemons, juniper, coriander, angelica and cassia as botanists in a vacuum distillation process. A gin, with the GQDI quality label 'Gin Di Qualità Distillato in Italia' refreshing, perfect for making Gin & Tonic or for making Martinis and Negronis of fruity character.
Malfy is made on the outskirts of Turin by the Tornio Distillati distillery. Historically, the area where the distillery is located is famous for the production of wines, distillates, spirits and vermouths such as Martini, Cinzano and Carpano.
The distillery was established and founded by Fratelli Ferrero in 1906, a Piedmontese family famous for its wines and vermouths. Sixty years later the distillery changes ownership, the new owner being a Canadian giant, Seagram.
In 1992, the current owners, the Vergnano family, former director of Seagram Italia, bought the distillery and established Tornio Distillati with the help of his family and Beppe Ronco and Denis Muni.
Gin bears the seal of quality GQDI ' G in Di Q ualità D istillato in I talia ', an unequivocal guarantee of the high standards used in the execution of the distillate.
To create Malfy, a careful selection of lemons skins from Sicily and the Amalfi Coast is used in a ratio of four to one. The fruit is macerated in a base alcohol made from wheat, before going through a basket press. The resulting distillate, citrus-labeled, is distilled with Tuscan juniper, coriander, cassia, licorice and grapefruit and orange skins.
