Mombasa Colonel's Resereve 70cl 43.5% vol. It is a limited edition of the London Dry Gin Mombasa Club, named after a social club in Kenya that imported gin for its members, is made with seven botanists who macerate in a high quality base alcohol. In the recipe we find; caraway seeds, calamus and coriander among others. The result is a London Dry Gin style gin, with juniper and floral notes.
At the end of the 19th century and at the height of the Victorian era, the British Empire, immersed in a colonial struggle throughout Africa, colonized Mombasa, established in front of the Island of Zanzibar, soon became the main wharf and commercial center of all East africa. And it was here that the first private social club was created. An exclusive gin, native to England and specially distilled and prepared for consumption and rejoicing by its members.
The Mombasa recipe dates back to the 19th century and uses a traditional batch distillation process.
Distilled four times, Mombasa Club Colonel's Reserve, is made in batches of 500 liters. The botanists, who macerate and provide the flavor and aromas of gin, are: Juniper, nutmeg, calamus, cumin, coriander, orange and lemon rind, caraway seeds and coriander.
