Isle of Jura is the only legal distillery on the island, located on the west coast of Scotland, is an island of two hundred inhabitants and twenty-five deer per inhabitant (more than five thousand), a place full of wildlife to contemplate, a paradise for nature lovers, with deer, trails and stunning views. An island wrapped in superstitions, legends and myths that the distillery uses to identify its whiskeys with the ancient Gaelic symbols, such as the one of the birth (Origin), the knot of the witches (Legacy) or the diurachs (Diurachs Own), as well as the Egyptian cross Ankh (Superstition) or the third eye (Prophecy).
It was in the fifties of the last century when, in an attempt to revitalize the island, Robin Fletcher and Tony Riley-Smith rebuilt a distillery whose origins dated back to the early nineteenth century.
