The Tullibardine distillery is located in Ochil Hills in Perthshire, where the Highlands begin, the region is known for its pure and crystal clear waters and for hosting the country's oldest brewery, built in the 12th century and which brewed the beer for the coronation of King James IV's in 1488. In 1949, architect William Delme-Evans purchased the brewery to build the distillery, William also designed the Jura and Glenallachie distilleries.
The distillery takes its name from nearby Tullibardine moor, the general style of Tullibardine is vinous, fragrant and perfumed whiskies. Versions that use sherry barrels develop melosas.
