The first whiskey distilled by Bulleit was a bourbon made by the owner of a bar in Louisville, Kentucky, called Augustus Bulleit. He began to produce and export his whiskeys, which in a short time had become famous in the region, until one day, while transporting his goods to New Orleans disappeared without a trace.
Time after, his great-great-great-grandson, Tom Bulleit would abandon his law career to fulfill his dream, to recreate that whisky. In 1987 Tom created the distillery, the rest is history.
