From the Far East, La Llar del Vi offers you an extensive catalog of Sakes , the quintessential Japanese spirit. Dare to discover the most curious oriental flavor with this drink made from rice.
The Sake (whose meaning is "Alcoholic Beverage") is actually a name given by the West to this drink, since it is actually called nihonsu in Japan. Its origin is ancient, and classic works of Japanese literature would already mention it as a drink of rituals and ceremonies. The process of elaboration is quite complex, and includes from the milling of the rice, its washing, soaking, cooking and extraction of the Koji , pressing, filtration and pasteurization; few ingredients are used but each link in the production chain and the microorganisms that are added to the beverage in its phases are very relevant.
It is possible to find different types of sake from the centennial distillery of the Tokuwawa Era Akashi-Tae as Honjozo Genshu , full-bodied drink with a very direct taste of rice; or Daiginjo , made from rice Yamada Nishiki whose base of koji is taken care of for 72 hours followed by an expert (without sleeping either) to take care to the millimeter that the elaboration of the base is carried out perfectly.
Another great spirit is Junmai Ginjo Ougyoku , from the Choya winery, made from 58% polished rice. Morita , another important distillery in Japan created in 1665 and highly awarded; offers us drinks like Nenohi Hanafugetsu Ginjyo , with a delicate and floral flavor made with water from Mount Kiso . Find also another product of this great distillery like Hana-Fugetsu , a harmonic sake that corresponds to the meaning of its name: "flower, wind and moon".
